How it works

Edentiti keeps track of an individual's electronic relationships with organisations who use the service.

Typically organisations ask a person to identify themselves. The person enters personal information about themselves and Edentiti then provides a way for the person to verify that the information provided is correct. For example a person goes to the electoral commission website via Edentiti and enters their name and address and the electoral commission returns either true of false.

Other sources of information are the White Pages, the ATO tax office, the Passport Office and Medicare. It is intended to add other sources of information.

The individual also records their voice print and this enables them to identify themselves in the future. This can be used for a person to electronically sign documents.
