What is Edentiti Voice Verification?

Edentiti Voice Verification offers your customers and clients a privacy
friendly, secure and reliable way to identify themselves. When a
customer calls they are asked to say a pass phrase. This is commonly
their full name but it could be any other "unforgettable" phrase that
they say in a similar way each time they are asked. This phrase is
their voice print and is the logical equivalent of a written signature
as voiceprints are unique to an individual. After a customer is
identified they can automatically supply verified information about
themselves or they can use their voice print to sign agreements.
A
typical application of Edentiti voiceprint verification is help desk
assistance. A customer calls from a known phone number. The customer is
asked to say their pass phrase and this is checked by the computer. The
call is then passed to the operator with an indication of how reliable
the identification was and whether more identification information is
required. In most cases this will reduce the call centre operator time
and the time the customer spends on the phone. The system preserves the
privacy of the customer as the call centre operator does not need to
know who they are talking to - only the information the organisation
holds on the customer.
Voiceprints can be used for more than
simple anonymous identification. A voiceprint can be used to allow
information from other sources to be provided to an organisation. Any
other organisation that allows access to their information through a
voiceprint can allow that information to be given to other
organisations. For example a University holds information about the
qualifications of graduates. The University can allow an individual to
access the database of those qualifications using their voice print.
The person can then pass that on to any other organisation that accepts
identification via voiceprint.
Because voiceprints are unique
and because it can be proved that a given individual uttered their pass
phrase or voiceprint signature, voiceprints can be used in the place of
signatures. For example an organisation that accepts voiceprints for
identification can ask their customers to sign such documents as direct
debit requests for automatic payment of goods and services.
