How effective is voice for identification?
Voice Verification is the only biometric that can be easily implemented to accurately identify remote callers or website users. Just as every fingerprint is unique, so is every VoicePrint.
Voice verification involves registering your VoicePrint so that it can be referred to for future comparison.
We believe that the Edentiti Voice Verification system is more effective that a password or PIN number system because our solution will actually confirm that you are the one entering your password.
Can a VoicePrint be a legal signature?
Yes. A VoicePrint is a form of electronic signature typically attached to an electronic document or transaction. Electronic signatures have the same legal standing as a handwritten signature. How difficult is it to integrate Edentiti Voice Verification with other systems?
The Edentiti Voice Verification solution can be integrated seamlessly with virtually any IVR (interactive voice response) system. It can be hosted either on the client's or Edentiti's servers - whichever is easiest for the client.
Why does Edentiti Voice Verification keep my information private?
Your VoicePrint is not just a recording. It is a digital representation of your voice. It makes it possible for you to positively identify yourself to others by recording you saying your phone number. At some later time when asked to identify yourself you say your phone number again. This is checked against the previous recording and you are able to prove it is you speaking without telling the person at the other end your name or any other information.
But it cannot and will not be used for any purpose other than that which you authorise.
What are the standard ways of verifying your Date of Birth?
The Australian Tax File Office keeps a record of your date of birth, your name and your date of birth. Edentiti asks you for those items of information and then on your behalf confirms with the ATO to ensure that such a record exists.
Australian Passport information is maintained by The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs. If If you supply certain information, including your date of birth, that appears on your passport and on your original application, Edentiti can check for you to see if the Department has your record and so confirm your date of birth.
Your medicare record has your medicare number and your date of birth. We ask Medicare on your behalf if you have a medicare card with your date of birth and a positive response confirms your date of birth.
What are the standard ways of verifying your address?
The Australian Electoral Commission keeps a record of all Australians who are entitled to vote. Edentiti asks you for information that is held by the Electoral Office and checks for you to see if your record exists.
If your phone number is listed in the white pages Edentiti can check for you to find the address of your phone number, even if the phone number may be in someone else's name. This arises when the phone number is in your spouse's or parent's name.
What other ways can you verify information about yourself?
There are many other ways for you to electronically verify information about yourself. Some people find sending electronic copies of online invoices or getting someone you know to verify paper documents to be simplest and most convenient.

Why do you need a PIN?
PIN numbers help protect your information from other people who may know other information about you. It is a way of ensuring no-one else can make changes to your contact details you have previously recorded.
Once your information has been verified you can supplement or replace the PIN with the use of your voiceprint or some other identifying data.
